Switching people on to enterprise

Ask people to name an enterprising individual and almost invariably you'll hear the word 'Branson' somewhere in the answer. There's nothing wrong with that except that Richard Branson may be someone who is admired but is not someone most people, particularly young people, identify with. Equally, 'enterprise' is seen as synonymous with 'business.'

Enterprising attitudes are essential if people are to fulfil their potential but it needs champions who can get the message across that it's something anyone can benefit from. For individuals, that might mean starting a business but equally it might mean mustering together a few mates to lobby support for a skateboard park.
